Sharing the science of sleep in a way real people can use
My name is Dr. Elsie Osiogo, and I’m an internal medicine resident doctor working in New York City. Every single day, both in the hospital and in my clinic, I see the profound, downstream effects of poor sleep. I see patients with high blood pressure, poorly controlled diabetes, persistent anxiety, and debilitating burnout. And so often, when we dig deeper, we find a common factor: a chronic sleep problem.
I developed a deep passion for sleep medicine because I’ve seen firsthand that it is the foundation of our health. When our sleep suffers, everything suffers. When we fix our sleep, we create the possibility for our entire well-being to improve.
I created this blog for one simple reason: The internet is a confusing place to find medical information. It’s full of myths, “quick-fix” products, and conflicting advice.
