Welcome to PillowTalkMd: A Doctor’s Guide to Better Sleep

Are you tired of being tired? Do you survive on coffee, get through the day in a fog, or lie awake at night staring at the ceiling, wondering why you can’t just… sleep?

If so, you are in the right place.

Welcome to PillowTalkMd, a new space dedicated to helping you understand your sleep and reclaim your health.

Meet Your Guide: Dr. Elsie Osiogo, MD

My name is Dr. Elsie Osiogo, and I’m an internal medicine resident doctor working in New York City.

Every single day, both in the hospital and in my clinic, I see the profound, downstream effects of poor sleep. I see patients with high blood pressure, poorly controlled diabetes, persistent anxiety, and debilitating burnout. And so often, when we dig deeper, we find a common factor: a chronic sleep problem.

I developed a deep passion for sleep medicine because I’ve seen firsthand that it is the foundation of our health. When our sleep suffers, everything suffers. When we fix our sleep, we create the possibility for our entire well-being to improve.

Our Mission: Clear, Evidence-Based Sleep Advice

I created this blog for one simple reason: The internet is a confusing place to find medical information. It’s full of myths, “quick-fix” products, and conflicting advice.

My mission is different. I want to be your trusted, empathetic, and clear-voiced guide through the world of sleep medicine.

My goal is to:

  • Demystify complex sleep diseases.
  • Debunk common sleep myths with real science.
  • Deliver scannable, actionable, and evidence-based advice you can use to build better habits.

What You Can Expect From This Blog

Here at “Sleep Well with Dr. Elsie,” we’ll explore the entire field of sleep medicine together. You can expect to find:

  • 😴 Evidence-Based Explainers: Simple, clear guides on common conditions like Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Insomnia, and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).
  • 💡 Actionable Sleep Tips: Practical advice on building a better sleep environment, optimizing your sleep hygiene, and managing the unique challenges of shift work.
  • 🩺 Treatment Deep Dives: What is a sleep study really like? What is CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and how does it work? We’ll cover it all.
  • 🤔 Myth Debunking: (No, you can’t really “catch up” on sleep over the weekend, and we’ll explore the science of why.)

Sleep is the single most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body health each day.
